850m² Luxury Tranquil Pond Estate Garden Remodel
Before work began on this year-long project, the property was professionally valued. Around eight or nine months later, shortly before completion, it was valued again and had increased in value by more than £100,000, making it the most valuable home within its postcode at the time.
This was a complete transformation on an enormous scale. The project included a full pond remodel and natural stone waterfall, entirely new garden elevations and extensive levelling, three premium porcelain patios, a weaving garden path and steps, an outdoor kitchen, and an extensive network of hidden pipework and electrical cabling carefully routed through the new wall footings.
A curved upright sleeper wall and planter was constructed along the length of the garden, while a bespoke laser-cut metal pergola was installed approximately 1.5 metres into the ground. Beneath the new patio, we created a concealed cavity housing a modern, low-maintenance pond filtration and pump system with automatic water top-up, keeping the equipment completely hidden from view.
The transformation also included new and remodelled planters, a bespoke laser-cut metal side gate, an alleyway paved in matching porcelain, and split-face porcelain walling throughout the garden, used across the steps, planters and pond areas to visually connect the different elevations and spaces.
Finally, more than 500 individual plants and wildflowers were introduced throughout the landscape, bringing softness, colour and life back into the extensive hard landscaping.
From below ground to the highest points of the garden, not a square inch was left untouched.

From wasteland to a visual treat
Before we attended this property in Chadwell Heath Romford there lied a desolate wasteland and dangerous dilapidated outbuilding. The garden now boasts a two circle lawn, which adds a unique touch of elegance to the outdoor space. In addition, a custom-made stone compass has been incorporated half into the lawn and half in to the patio, providing a beautiful focal point. The transformation has completely changed the look and feel of the garden, creating a serene and tranquil environment. The skilled craftsmanship and attention to detail is evident in the finished product and we replaced the old building with a brand new modern summer house garden office.
Overall, this garden transformation is a testament to the power of design and highlights how a small space can be transformed into a stunning outdoor oasis.
A neglected mess to functional beauty
The before and after photo of this garden makeover in Elm Park Hornchurch is stunning. The transformation is complete with porcelain paving, colourful edging, and brickwork.
The addition of a brick and wooden sleeper bench and planter with a bar top surface for a BBQ is a smart choice with shelving and coal bunker inside accessible from the back. The brick bench and planter bar top are functional and add visual interest to the garden.

850m² Luxury Tranquil Pond Estate Garden Remodel
Another before-and-after view of this luxurious 850m² estate garden remodel, featuring what became our favourite part of the entire project — the complete pond remodel and natural stone waterfall build.
This view really showcases the carefully considered changes in elevation that give the garden its depth and character. Beginning at the lowest point, at water level, the landscape rises naturally through the rock and log banking on the left, where steps lead up to the Zen Garden level. From here, further steps on the far left rise to the patio level, which aligns with the elevated planter wrapping around the right-hand side of the pond.
The landscape then rises once again to the main lawn, outdoor kitchen and pergola level, creating a series of distinct yet connected spaces overlooking the pond and waterfall below. Further elevations continue throughout the garden beyond what can be seen in this photograph, forming part of the wider multi-level design across this substantial estate garden.
Natural Stone Triple Moon Gate Before & After
An old, uninspiring wall once divided the front and rear halves of this large estate garden in Shenfield, Essex, with an awkward, steeply sloping paved area bridging the considerable difference in height.
The client's request was simply “some sort of arch with flowers and plants hanging from it.” She had never heard of, or even seen, a Moon Gate before.
What followed completely changed the character of the garden. The Natural Stone Triple Moon Gate became a substantial yet subtle focal point, creating a striking transition between the two halves of the landscape. Combined with planting, natural stone steps and a winding pathway leading down towards a new corner patio, the space developed an almost fantasy-garden feel — creating a sense of adventure and inviting you to walk through and explore what lies beyond.
Hidden above the arch is a concealed planter, allowing plants to cascade naturally over the stonework. Mint was also incorporated into the planting so that, as you approach and pass beneath the arch, its fragrance adds another sensory element to the experience.
Alongside the Moon Gate itself, the project involved additional paving outside the view of this photograph and extensive terraforming between the two levels of the garden, with the complete transformation taking approximately eight weeks.
The Triple Moon Gate may not have been our largest garden remodel, but it remains one of our favourite projects to date.
